We are excited to announce a groundbreaking collaboration between Earth Protex™™ and Oleatex, combining two waste streams from the textile and food industries to create a luxurious, sustainable alternative to leather for accessories, apparel and upholstery. This innovation lowers emissions impact while offering a high-quality, low-impact product.
At the heart of this collaboration is Oleatex®, a 100% vegan and sustainable plant-based material derived from biowaste, predominantly from the olive industry. Oleago, the company behind
Oleatex®, specializes in transforming these waste streams into next-generation materials that align perfectly with Earth Protex™’s commitment to sustainability.
Oleago operates from its headquarters and manufacturing plant in Istanbul, Turkey, with subsidiaries in the USA, Germany, UK, South Africa, and Bangladesh.
The collaboration utilizes Tex2Tex™, our advanced substrate backing fabric made from textile industry waste. When paired with Oleatex®’s next-generation coating made from food industry waste, the result is a premium, sustainable alternative to traditional leather that significantly reduces carbon emissions, cutting them by up to six times compared to petroleum-based products.
Oleatex® is available at volumes to meet industrial demand also it’s raw material is 100% biodegradable and certified as 63% biobased by USDA and 91% by DIN. With PETA and V-label certifications from the European Vegetarian Union, Oleatex® is a truly 100% vegan solution.
